Caste Census, Reservation and Politics

Census!!! the word means an official count or survey of population.

On 3rd Apr, 2010,The country, on Thursday, took up one of its biggest intiatives, of counting its 1.2 billion population engaging over 25 lakh officials. The President, Ms. Pratibha Patil, inaugurated the census count, her name being recorded first.
The civic body has started door-to-door process of data collection for census. It includes details that will be used to build a comprehensive database for the National Population Register (NPR). It will cost Rs 2,209 crore and operation will be conducted over a period of 45 days in each state and Union Territory.
The enumerator can knock your door on any day.

It is imperative to note census is related to reservation, How? A big question. Apart from other details enumaertor will ask you your caste too. It is to ascertain that which caste is in what percentage of the population, so that reservation can be devised for backward and schedule castes to uplift their social and economic condition. Here note to be made that in India reservation is caste based not the financial condition.Although many people are economically backward in every caste whether it is General, OBC or SC category.
Reservation in education system and public sector jobs are hammering the economic growth of the country leaving the talent untapped. And it will endure protracted untill this reservation will not be eradicated. I am using word eradicated because caste based reservation is just like a epidemic.
You all must have faced the consequences/benefits of reservation at the time of getting admission in a good college or at the time of searching a Govt. job.

Through close observation i can say that if Govt. wants to provide reservation to the weaker section of the society, it should facilitate them financially like free education till 12 th class and also to talented students for higher education, which is now transpired through Right To Education Act .
There should be no reservation for getting admission in college/jobs. Talent shall get the job and our economy will grow exponentially.
If reservation has to be provided it has to be for the weaker section of the society based on their economic conditions.

Poltical parties came into power and go but nothing has been done to remove the reservation as they fear lose the votes. Even in Orrisa, there was a time when there is no caste based politics, now it has given the fire by few parties to burn their own oven. Caste is dividing india and political parties are the only beneficieriesYoung india must awake and understand the way political parties are fooling us.

The census 2011 is nothing more than this that India will be again devided on the basis of caste but the data gathered will be useful to UID project in great, headed by Nandan Nilekani , with some other projects run for the poorer section.

Commonwealth Games 2010

It was a day of national celebration for India When Delhi won the bid to host the 2010 edition of Commomwealth Games ,which has previously hosted the Asian Games in 1951 and 1982. Every delhiites were immensely proud and happy. Happiness was not for the very reason that Delhi would come on the map of hosting big event nations but the development which C'wealth Games will bring into the city.

November 13,2003 was the day Delhi won for CWG and the cost of hosting the event was estimated at Rs 1899 Crore. This official cost estimates have gone up by whopping 525% at Rs 10000/- Crore. But according to some independent NGOs estimate has gone up by 1575 % at Rs 30000/- Crore. In every project estimated cost is bound to go up but not with such percentage. It is all general public's money.

I came to Delhi in search of a good job in 2006. At that time i did not saw any of the major work going on except the Delhi metro's. The preparation started only in 2007 and paced up in 2009 after Michael Fennell, president of the Commonwealth Games Federation, had said that he was “extremely worried” about preparations for the Games. Now we could find the Delhi as a city of dust.Construction works are on in every part of Delhi.

Its all OK. But who is going to check the quality of the work? No work was reported to be of subquality till now. Only Metro got some of the dents owing few accidents which took toll of few lives. It seems that government is trying to save her nose by completing all the construction works by Aug 2010 in haste at any cost compromising the quality of works. Also what about the cleaning of pollution level in terms of dust which takes about six months to settle down.

It would be funny to note that constructions are being done by common man's money living and working in Delhi, facing the heat of inflation with increase in the existing taxes and some of new more taxes, for the very reason that this work will not stay for longer to avail the benefits with substandard quality of work.

why do we need such big events for the development of the city?

Save our Planet

"we say , Save our Planet but Planet must be saying- save yourself first i would be fine."

Yes! it is true.

In today's world human, an intellectual species, is so selfish that he wants to use all the resources available on our planet to spent their life luxurious. Difficult to comprehend, why? Is this the purpose of life?

In my opinion, most of the people are unaware of the consequences or don't want to give a damn thought , they are using in making their life easy. Money has given the power to purchase whatever you wants to Or the intricacy of the matter and its subsequent sensitivity prevents them from doing the things to protect the environment.I like the eccentricity of one human trying to cope with multiple humans inside him.

Today our Planet is burning and it is being anticipated by the Scientists that in next 300 years temperature would rise to the limit that humans could unable to adapt or survive. The main reason behind Climate change is the burning of fossil fuels. The world's biodiversity is threatened by the economic growth.

Humans are not thinking all about this aspect in hustle - bustle of life. Even i saw in Delhi that most of the cars carrying only one person/it is only driver. Lots of chemicals are being dumped in rivers,Trees are being choped off in the name of development, very few institution have the rain water harvesting system. Drinking water is being truncated, owing wastage of supplied water, in such a way that Delhi's Goverment is now planning to supply the recycled drainage water on the model of Singpore's water supply system.

We must awake, act in right direction to conserve the natural resources for us and posterity.Nature has such a distinct way of reminding us all the time that we are such insignificant pawns in their presence. It becomes imperative therefore that we respect it, preserve it and learn to live with its eminence.
